SEKONDA – the top British-designed watch brand that has been around since 1966. Sekonda was originally launched as a sub-brand of the Soviet watchmaker Poljot. Sekonda was the UK distributors for Poljot and the name "Sekonda" was chosen to appeal to the British market. Currently, Sekonda is no longer source watches from Russia.
In the 1970s, Sekonda became an independent brand. Sekonda also expanded its product range to include more expensive models with features such as chronographs, and therefore began to market its watches in other countries. Today, Sekonda is sold in over 100 countries around the world and is still one of the most popular watch brands in the UK.
Over the years, Sekonda has produced a wide variety of watches, from simple and classic designs to more modern and sporty styles. The brand has also collaborated with various organizations and individuals to create limited edition watches, such as the British Royal Air Force and tennis player Andre Agassi.
POLJOT – a historic Russian watch brand that has its roots in the Soviet era. The name "Poljot" means "flight" in Russian, and the brand was established in 1961 as a subsidiary of the First Moscow Watch Factory.
In its early years, Poljot was known for producing watches for the Soviet military and space programs. The brand's watches were used on numerous space missions, including the Soyuz and Salyut missions, and even on the famous Apollo-Soyuz Test Project, which was a joint mission between the United States and Soviet Union in 1975. Poljot was also a pioneer in the development of mechanical chronographs, and its Caliber 3133 movement was widely used in Soviet and Russian military watches.

Vintage watches are traditionally smaller than today's watches. Men’s watches typically measure between 29-36mm wide (some larger, some smaller) excluding the crown. In the listing details we typically try to do our best to list all pertinent dimensions of a watch. If you don't see it, or we failed to do so, please reach out to us. Women’s watches from the 1900s-1970s were also much smaller than today's offerings. Please also feel free to ask any questions you have pertaining to size.
We prefer to shoot photographs outside when weather is permitting. However, when we shoot indoors, please be aware that we shoot our photographs inside of lightboxes that are lit with 360 LED bulbs. This indeed magnifies any flaws. Usually, they are much less obvious to the naked eye. Having said that, we never photoshop any of our photography, remove blemishes, etc. We adjust lighting when necessary, but what you see is what you are getting, and we take pride in that.
The condition is pre-owned.
The item may have some signs of cosmetic wear but is fully operational and functions as intended.
