Each Luminox watch contains small self luminous "gas lamp" made by a top Swiss Institute for Lightning Components Mb-Microtec. These individual lamps (Boros capsules) are gently incorporated into the hands, markers and in case of diving watches also to the rotating bezel. The lifetime of Luminox illumination LLT is up to 25 years and 100 times brighter than conventional watches. Mostly of rubber, resins or silicone. This type of material has high flexibility, is hypoallergenic, water resistant, and does not absorb sweat.
